She, He And I

September 16, 2007

My nails are a shade of purple

Much different than his

His mind a burst of colour

And mine a shade of grey

So he has the words (on paper)

And I have nothing (on a tree)

I carry it all on the outside

He stores his all away

She hates the life she is living

His is not worth a dime

Both want out of this

But are caught between the pages

The Bible?

Maybe not

Both tasted the devils dish

Natural sugar cannot resist

The world is harsh

Bright colours often

Soften the bite

Pretentious Peaks

September 16, 2007

What a pretentious peak you hold

Here on this mountian covered in snow

Aren’t you cold?

Someone told me something

“Peaks are hard to stand on”

I didn’t comprehend

I guess he meant to say

there isn’t much room

Someone will try to push you off

I’m fine here in my crowded valley

At least I’m warm and not alone

So balance on the peak that you hold

Keep your eyes to all four sides

And don’t let the wind take you
